CLASS LENGTH: 1 HOUR 
AGES: 19 years & up


 

ADULT LEARN TO SKATE  -  Beginner

Basic skating skills are introduced including: balance, learning how to fall and stand up, gliding and stopping.

ADULT LEARN TO SKATE  -  Advanced

The focus of this program will be on: forwards and backwards skating, balance and edges, stopping techniques, turns and crossovers.

ADULT HOCKEY SKILLS

This program is suitable to fit the needs of those involved or interested in pursuing recreational hockey. The focus of this program is to improve skills already developed and to develop fundamental skills needed for hockey including skating puck control, passing and shooting.

ADULT POWER SKATING

Through well designed power drills, this program provides instruction in power development, edge work, power strides, starting, stopping and lateral mobility.


 

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • CSA-approved helmets with and face-masks are optional for the Adult Learn To Skate programs. 
  • CSA-approved helmets with and face-masks are mandatory for the Adult Hockey Skills & Power Skating programs. 
  • Hockey or figure skates that lace up (plastic skates with buckles do not provide the proper support).
  • Waterproof gloves and layered up in clothing that is warm and waterproof.
  • Full hockey equipment is required for the Adult Hockey Skills & Power Skating programs
  • Bicycle or ski helmets are not permitted. 

     
  • Dates and times are subject to change based on availability.
  • Skaters are grouped according to level.
