CLASS LENGTH: 1 HOUR 
AGES: 5 years & up

Introduction To FLOW Figure Skating Academy

This program is designed to introduce young skaters who demonstrate a passion for figure skating and wish to pursue a competitive or recreational level of figure skating. Basic figure skating skills are introduced, including stroking, edges, spins, artistic movements, and artistic presentation.

Prerequisite: Learn To Skate Level 2
Age: 5 and up

Pre - Competitive FLOW Figure Skating Academy

This program is customized for skaters who wish to pursue a competitive or recreational level of figure skating. Advanced figure skating elements are introduced including, stroking, edges, spins, jumps, footwork, artistic movements and artistic presentations. A solo routine is also created at this level.

Prerequisite: Intro To FLOW or intermediate skating ability. Figure Skaters at this level are asked to skate twice per week or more

Competitive FLOW Figure Skating Academy

This program is customized for skaters who wish to pursue a competitive or recreational level of figure skating. Advanced figure skating elements are introduced, various stroking techniques, edges and co-ordination for footwork, spins, footwork into jumps, artistic movements, and artistic presentation. Skaters will begin competing at this level and have the option of competing at a recreational level or competitive level.

Prerequisite: Intermediate or Advanced skating ability. Figure Skaters at this level are asked to skate twice per week or more.


 

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • CSA-approved helmets with and face-masks are optional. 
  • Figure skates that lace up (plastic skates with buckles do not provide the proper support).
  • Waterproof gloves and layered up in clothing that is warm, dark and waterproof.
  • Bicycle or ski helmets are not permitted. 

     
  • Dates and times are subject to change based on availability.
  • Skaters are grouped according to level first and then by age.
